| -White tabi- White tabi are worn for official ceremonies such as congratulatory events and funerals. The presence of white tabi can be either casual or formal in the extreme, depending on the setting. Monks, masters of tea ceremony, and Kabuki/Noh actors all wear white tabi. These people can be collectively called "white tabi" . The name refers to a white-or-blue collar worker. Furthermore, it is required that participants wear white tabi on the Japanese archery field or on the Noh stage. Also, people must to wear white tabi in the Sumo wrestling arena. |
